Due to public health concerns, Youth to Youth must make a difficult but proactive decision to postpone this weekends CAMP Y2Y event.

Youth to Youth’s top priority is the health, safety, and well-being of your students our staff and volunteers. We are a prevention program with the main goal of promoting healthy decision making in our community and beyond. Accordingly, we must take immediate action to help protect students, staff, volunteers and community from the coronavirus (COVID-19) which was just declared a global pandemic by the World Health Organization just this morning.

This decision is made under the guidance of our state government and medical leaders. They advise that distancing and avoiding large gatherings, really are the best means of protecting from exposure. Prevention is and will remain the best medicine and we must do our part in preventing the spread of this virus. Not taking the appropriate action in this situation could put students, volunteers, staff and family at risk and that is something that we cannot ignore.

This decision was not easy to come to as our staff and volunteers have worked tirelessly to make CAMP Y2Y an amazing weekend experience for your students. We absolutely do not want the hard work and excitement for CAMP Y2Y to be for nothing. As this decision will be costly for Youth to Youth we will deliberate in the coming weeks on how we can still provide this experience for your students when appropriate.

We will begin to process refunds for those who have paid. Please allow 7-10 days for this to take place.

Thank you for your understanding in this matter and we look forward to providing your student with innovative and impactful prevention and leadership experiences in the near future. If you have any questions you can give me a call at 614-586-7963.

CAMP Y2Y: What you need to know

Arrival: Registration begins at 8:00 am on Saturday, March 14th at the Youth to Youth office (1420 Fields Ave. Columbus, OH 43211). Please follow signs and volunteers to check-in your student.

At this time, they will receive their name tag and bus assignment. If necessary, your student will then be directed to the nurse and/or solutions table to turn in any medications, forms or payment due. You will also be able to speak with the nurse and Youth to Youth staff members if you have any questions.

If you arrive after 8:25 am after the buses depart on Saturday, you will need to drive your student to Recreation Unlimited (7700 Piper Rd. Ashley, OH) so that they are still able to attend.

If you are bringing your student directly to Recreation Unlimited we ask that you arrive between 9:00 am and 9:30 am. When you arrive, you will go to the Lodge to check-in, get a name tag and cabin assignment. Please notify krigby@youthtoyouth.net if you are planning to take your student directly to Recreation Unlimited.

Check-out Procedure: On Sunday, March 15th, your student(s) will return to the Youth to Youth office at 2:00 pm. When they get off the bus, ALL STUDENTS will be asked to go into the rec area (where registration occurred). To pick up your student, you will go up to the check-out table and give your students name, they will then be released to you.

What to bring: Your student should bring twin XL linen set and blanket or a sleeping bag, pillow, towel, wash cloth, toiletries, deodorant, toothbrush, toothpaste, comfortable clothes (students will receive a free t-shirt to wear Sunday), comfortable shoes, rain jacket or umbrella, cell phone and money (if desired).
