For franklin county Middle School Students

Experiencing this overnight leadership camp will equip your student with skills to be better leaders and positive role models in their schools and communities. Through supportive small discussion groups, workshops and presentations completely created and delivered by youth, innovative team building, a dynamic speaker, and of course fun; participants will gain knowledge, create relationships, and build skills that will last a lifetime. Students will also be more confident in their choice to be drug-free, and encouraged to share this message with others.

When: April 1-2, 2023 

Who: Open to all Franklin County 6th-8th Grade Students

Where: Recreation Unlimited

Cost: FREE

CAMP Y2Y participants will be checked in and transported by bus. Lunch, dinner and a late-night snack will be provided Saturday along with breakfast and lunch Sunday. Camp Participant spots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Check In/Drop Off Location

Check-in will begin at 8:00 am Saturday, April 1 at the ABM Parking Lot 246 S 3rd St, Columbus, OH 43215. Bus transportation will be provided from this location to the CAMP. The bus will leave promptly at 8:25 am. Any student arriving after 8:25 am will be required to have a guardian drive them to Recreation Unlimited.

CAMP Y2Y will conclude at 1:00 pm Sunday, April 2. Bus transportation will be provided from the CAMP to ABM Parking Lot 246 S 3rd St, Columbus, OH 43215. Students taking the bus must be picked up by their parent/guardian from 246 S 3rd St. by 2:15 pm. Any student not taking the bus must be picked up by their parent/guardian at 1:00 pm from Recreation Unlimited. *

Volunteer Opportunities

Every year we offer the opportunity for youth and adults to be a part of CAMP Y2Y volunteer staff. The staff role is one of the most critical and influential parts of a Youth to Youth camp. If you are interested in applying please follow the link below.

Adult Staff Application: Training Begins Friday, March 31st at 7:00 p.m.

Youth Staff Application: Mandatory Training: March 22nd 5:00 – 8:00 and Friday, March 31st at 5:00 p.m.

Connection Crew Application: Mandatory Training: March 22nd 5:00 – 8:00 and Friday, March 31st at 5:00 p.m.

Youth Staff and Connection Crew are also required to submit a reference from a teacher, coach or mentor. That form can be found here: CAMP Y2Y Student Referral Form

CAMP Y2Y: What you need to know

 

Arrival: Check-in will begin at 8:00 am Saturday, April 1 at the ABM Parking Lot 246 S 3rd St, Columbus, OH 43215. Bus transportation will be provided from this location to the CAMP. The bus will leave promptly at 8:25 am. Any student arriving after 8:25 am will be required to have a guardian drive them to Recreation Unlimited.

At this time, they will receive their name tag and bus assignment. If necessary, your student will then be directed to the nurse and/or solutions table to turn in any medications, forms due. You will also be able to speak with the nurse and Youth to Youth staff members if you have any questions.

If you are bringing your student directly to Recreation Unlimited we ask that you arrive between 9:00 am and 9:30 am. When you arrive, you will go to the Lodge to check-in, get a name tag and cabin assignment.

What to bring: Your student should bring twin XL linen set and blanket or a sleeping bag, pillow, towel, wash cloth, toiletries, deodorant, toothbrush, toothpaste, comfortable clothes (students will receive a free t-shirt to wear Sunday), comfortable shoes, rain jacket or umbrella, cell phone and money (if desired).
